This month: free marketing audit and website teardown. Limited spots.

What Does Your Website Say About Your Business?

A client showed me their competitor’s website. When I asked how old it was, he said it was just redesigned. But… it looked like it was from 2012.

The bottom part of the page was full of tiny text I couldn’t read at all. Some of the words on the screen were low contrast. And the biggest sin of all: a section full of details was just one big image.

That means someone with a screen reader would be missing tons of information. The screen reader can’t parse any of the information inside of the image. Not to mention how anyone would have to strain their eyes to read anything.

Here’s the thing. Your website says a lot about your business before a single word is read. Not just the content, but the care you put into it. Is it clear? Is it up to date? Can people actually use it?

Tips for an EFFECTIVE about page!

When I consulted with my client for their new website, we made sure to keep things accessible and easy to read – because it’s the right thing to do, and caring about that usually signals you care about other things too.

They’ve received great feedback and are well into a successful new product launch.

A Few Quick Tips

Here are a few quick marketing and website tips:

  • Check your footer. Is the copyright still showing 2022? 😅 (this can be set to automatically update!
  • If you’ve been using Chat GPT or a similar AI tool for a little while now, try this prompt and see what it says: “Based on what you know about me, tell me something that I may not know about myself.”
